On the 25th February, a month ago today, the Blue Coat Federation launched the 2025 Blue Coat Festival; an annual celebration of the Infants, Juniors and Secondary Blue Coat Church of England schools in Walsall, in partnership with St Matthews Church. This year marked a milestone year which sees 60 years since the schools moved into their new locations, following the opening of the new secondary school site on Birmingham Street. The theme for this year was Building on Firm Foundations. Our pupils were able to explore St Matthews Church and were given special access to a tour of the church grounds, including the crypt. The final day of the festival is Blue Coat Sunday, another annual tradition which is hundreds of years old which. This was marked by a special service at St Matthews Church where our pupils were able to perform.
